Troubleshooting
Partial indexing
What it means when a document uploads, but some parts are not available for answers.
Partial indexing means Polaris uploaded the document, but could not use every part of it for answers.
This is not always an error. In many cases Polaris keeps the available text and explains which part was not processed.
Common cases
It can happen when:
- your plan does not include OCR;
- your plan does not include Vision;
- the document exceeds page or size limits;
- OCR took too long on one or more pages;
- the file only contains images or scans and no available capability can read them;
- the workspace reached an operational limit.
Warnings you may see
In Documents you may see warnings such as:
Partial indexingOCR not includedVision not includedPartial OCROCR timeoutNo indexable content
What you can do
- Upload a PDF with selectable text.
- Reduce the number of pages.
- Split the file by section.
- Use sharper images.
- Upgrade the plan if you need OCR or Vision.
- Try again if there was a temporary timeout.
For very large documents or processes that take longer, Polaris may use background processing in a future phase.
