Policies and control
Keep Operator safe with rules, approvals, limits and action history.
Polaris Operator works within rules and permissions defined for each workspace so automation stays safe and controlled.
This prevents AI from acting freely in important processes. Operator can help execute work, but it should respect the limits, approvals and rules of each operation.
Main controls
The most important controls are:
- Workspace permissions.
- Human approvals for sensitive actions.
- Plan and usage limits.
- Action history.
- Clear states when something completes, fails or needs review.
- Duplicate result prevention.
How to configure it
- Define which actions Operator may prepare.
- Decide which actions require approval.
- Review plan limits before publishing automation.
- Define who reviews sensitive cases.
- Test one successful case and one incomplete case.
AI and human supervision
Polaris does not fully replace human supervision. The goal is for AI to help prepare, organize and execute work while the team keeps control over important decisions.
For example, Operator can prepare an appointment request, but ask for approval before confirming it or sending a sensitive message.
When Operator cannot complete something
If Polaris Operator cannot complete a task, the system keeps the context a person needs to review it and continue the process.
That context may include what was attempted, what information was missing, what error occurred and the recommended next step.
Policy example
| Situation | Recommended rule |
|---|---|
| Create lead | Allow without approval |
| Confirm appointment | Requires approval |
| Send sensitive message | Requires approval |
| Missing information | Ask for details or escalate |
| Usage limit is close | Show warning before blocking |
First recommendation
Start with stricter rules and approvals for sensitive actions. Later, once you have enough history, you can decide which parts of the process are safe to automate with less review.
What to avoid
- Granting broad access without clear rules.
- Automating sensitive changes without history.
- Not defining human review paths.
- Mixing support, sales and booking flows without criteria.
